Rainey is a well-known and highly respected San Antonio artist. She runs BEE Nation as well as Populux Commissary. Growing up in a trailer on a Leon Valley sheep farm, Rainey was fascinated by her father’s “women-in-distress” men’s magazines and the ads directed at women in her mom’s magazines. Rainey notes that she deals in “pop surreal & amp; atomic mid century paintings,” which frequently bring a smile to a viewer’s face and at the very least a sense of recognition. Her most recent solo was at Southwest School of Art, San Antonio, TX.
