Voices de la Luna, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit is soliciting donations of art from the local artist community for their Silent Auction.

Deadline

March 15, email info to bibisaidi@aol.com: artist name, mailing address, medium, size, title of piece, minimum bid, one sentence artist vita or other statement

Event Information:

— Theme: Blindness & the Healing Aspects of Poetry & the Arts

— Co-Sponsors: Voices de la Luna & the SA Lighthouse for the Blind

— Location: The Bright Shawl, 819 Augusta, San Antonio 78205

— Cost: Participating Artists: $60.- includes reception & 3 course dinner & wine (free parking). Regular patrons: $100 per person

Art Specs:

— size: max  24″ x 36″

— weight: max 8 pounds (so people can carry it home that night)

— any medium

— minimum bid: $100.- (we’ve had bids up to $2700 in past events)

— must have “touchable” aspect since blind people are part of the audience & they’ll want to feel the pieces ( i.e. no items under glass)

Submission:

—  before March 15, email info to bibisaidi@aol.com: artist name, mailing address, medium, size, title of piece, minimum bid, one sentence artist vita or other statement (that will be put on the auction list)

—  bring your artwork to Bright Shawl between 3 & 4 PM on April 9

Financial:

— 50/50 split between artist & Voices

— artists will be emailed with sales/no sales information the day after (April 10)

— check will be emailed April 10

— art w/o min bid can be picked up at my home (Dominion @ IH-10 West) on April 10 or 11. I will be out of town thereafter till the last week of April, at which time we can meet somewhere closer to town for art return.
